Biography
Derek P. Scott is a Registered Social Worker (RSW) certified Gestalt Therapist and Group Leader (Gestalt Institute of Toronto) and holds a B.A. (Hons) in Psychology (Keele University, England) He has worked in the field of counselling/therapy since 1981.
He is currently a certified member in good standing with the OACCPP (Ontario Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists and Psychotherapists) and the OCSWSSW (Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers)
Derek has over 25 years experience in the field, and experience with a variety of insight-based holistic modalities including action-method psychodramatic work, gestalt two-chair and contact boundary work, body focused awareness and cognitive behavioural therapy . Derek now chooses to work with the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model. He finds it to be the most accurate, efficient and effective model for facilitating permanent changes within the system and he appreciates that it does not foster dependence on the therapist, but instead acknowledges and respects the capacity of the individual.
Rates
Rates are $115 per session. Should your financial circumstances change during the course of your therapy the fee becomes negotiable. Some coverage may be available from benefits packages that cover the services of a Registered Social Worker (RSW).
